Spring Onion Ishikura Bunching Seeds
Info: Spring onion Ishikura Bunching is an outstanding variety that does not bulb but forms long white stalks. It is a perennial variety that is cold hardy, very adaptable to various climates and resistant to pink root and botrytis leaf blight. It is suitable for later crops and for overwintering. Iishikura onion has a mild, sweet flavour and is a very popular cultivated vegetable and an important ingredient in Japanese cuisine. It is used in miso soup, Teriyaki and stir-frys like Yakisoba.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow directly outdoors in April after the last frost has occurred. Sowing depth approx. 0,5 cm. Spring onions prefer full sun to partial shade and well drained soil. Keep soil moist and fertilize as needed. Harvest young plants in 60 days and if required leave the remainder to mature.
