Lettuce Red Cimmaron Romaine Seeds
Info: `Red Cimmaron Romaine` is a beautiful red Romaine that produces up to 30 cm heads of bronze-red with a green heart. It is a heirloom dating back to the 1700s and good for spring, summer and fall planting as it`s cold-hardy and also tolerates heat. In cooler temperatures the colour turns to a deeper red. It is a reliable, high quality workhorse with a superb flavour and crisp, tender texture.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow outdoors successively between March to August. Seed depth 6 - 12 mm in short rows about 20 - 30 cm apart. When the seedlings are about 2cm tall, thin them out. A rich soil is excellent for lettuce, but the crop will also do well in average garden soil. Fertilize the soil with compost or horn meal before sowing. Watering is essential, the plants need almost constantly moist ground as dry soil will cause the plants to put their energy into producing flowers.
