Aji Charapita Red Chilli Seeds
Information: The Aji Charapita Red Chilli is a variant of the Charapita Yellow, which is considered the original variety. Both originate from the border area of Peru to Brazil and are often considered as most expensive Chili of the world.
Because of its rarity it is sometimes also called caviar chili. Charapita Red is small, red and rather inconspicuous, but it has a fiery heat of 50,000 - 100,000 Scoville and an incomparable fine taste: fruity, floral and exotic. The plant`s cultivation time is long and from sowing to harvest you have to expect 7 to 10 months. The plants grow bushy and branched, can grow up to 150 cm and have a high yield.
In Peru the chillies are also eaten fresh and used as a seasoning for sauces and salsas, to which it gives a fruity flavour. In most cases, however, it is used as a powder and gives stews, stews and sauces their typical taste.
Care: Germination temperature is between 22°C and 28°C (germination period: 10-20 days); it is therefore recommended to use a greenhouse and a heating mat. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. As the plants have a particularly long maturation period, it is recommended to grow them in a pot, so that you can easily bring the plant inside when the temperature falls below 12°C during the day, allowing all the fruits to ripen. To keep the plant over the winter, cut it back by 20cm after harvesting and place in a light place where it is at least 15°C.
