Ballade Asia Chili Seeds
Info: The Ballade Asia Chili comes from Thailand and lovers of Asian cuisine will enjoy cultivating this chili in their gardens or on their windowsills. The plants grow up to 85cm in size and are very high-yielding. The chilies are relatively thick-walled and ripen to a deep red. They have a medium level of spiciness and an intense flavour, and are therefore suitable for spicy dishes and sauces, fruity and spicy chutneys and chili pastes, as well as for pickling and drying.
Care: The germination temperature is between 22 und 28°C (8 - 21 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
Tips for successful chili cultivation can be found in our Chili Cultivation Instructions and in the Chili Diary.
