Dead Mans Hand Chili Seeds
Info: The Dead Man’s Hand Chili is a very rare and unusual variety from Asia. When you harvest the fruit in whole bunches and remove the leaves, they look like a bony arm with hand and fingers - a “Dead Man’s Hand”. The bushy, approx. 80 cm high plants develop numerous upright growing, approx. 1 x 6 cm long fruits, which ripen to a full red colour. Due to their powerful spiciness, they are suitable for making hot sauces, for pickling and for drying.
Care: The germination temperature is between 22 und 28°C (8 - 21 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
Tips for successful chili cultivation can be found in our Chili Cultivation Instructions and in the Chili Diary.
