Jamaican Red Chili Seeds
Info: The Jamaican Red Chili is a typical Jamaican chili variety with an intensely fruity flavour and a decent level of spiciness. The plants are compact and bushy with thick foliage, and grow up to approx. 90 cm. The lantern-shaped, slightly wrinkled fruits ripen to a bright red, and are thin walled and juicy. The flavour is reminiscent of apricots and citrus fruits, with a slightly smoky undertone. The chillies are excellent for making hot sauces and salsas, as well as for pickling and drying.
Care: The germination temperature is between 22 und 28°C (8 - 22 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
