Bulgarian Carrot Orange Chili Seeds
Information: The Bulgarian Carrot chili is a traditional strain of chili from Bulgaria; it is a fast-growing variety that can handle our Central European climate relatively well. It stays quite small in size, meaning it can be grown well in a plant pot, however it also thrives outdoors in a sunny, protected spot.
The plants have a high yield of fruits, which ripen early and resemble carrots both in shape and colour. The chillies are very juicy and full of flavour, they also have a healthy portion of spicy heat, which can be somewhat overwhelming for beginners. Don`t be deceived by their appearance. For spice aficionados, the peppers taste great eaten raw thanks to their thick outer walls, however they can also be cooked, stuffed or used as an ingredient in sauces and salsas.
Care: Germination temperature is between 22°C and 28°C (germination period: 7-20 days); it is therefore recommended to use a greenhouse and a heating mat.. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised permeable soil and should not be left in standing water. They should be placed in a sunny, sheltered place with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day, if not more. Place the plants outside around 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. When you plant the seedlings outdoors, take care to leave at least 30cm of space between each plant.
