Dutch Yellow Chili Seeds
Info: The Dutch Yellow Chili was probably bred in Indonesia from Cayennes, and went from there to the Netherlands. Today the red variety is one of the most frequently sold chili types in Central Europe. The plants are bushy and grow up to between 70 and 100 cm in height. The chillies resemble Cayennes, and ripen from green to a bright yellow, but are somewhat fleshier and sweeter in flavour the the Cayennes. Due to their pleasant mild heat, they are suitable for salads as well as cooking, pickling, grilling and drying.
Care: The germination temperature is between 20 und 28°C (8 - 20 day germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating pad is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be planted in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight - preferably more. Put the plants outside approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost.
Tips for successful chili cultivation can be found in our Chili Cultivation Instructions and in the Chili Diary.
