Peito de Moca Chilli Seeds
Information: The Peito de Moca comes from Brazil and its name means "girl`s breast". It belongs to the Capsicum chinense species and bears numerous small 1.5 x 3.5 cm pointed fruits with a smooth surface on bushes up to 70 cm high. These have a pleasant, fruity flavour and a pleasant heat. The Peito de Moca ripens from green with a violet hint to red. It is excellent for salsas, for eating fresh or dried and processed as a powder.
Care: The germination temperature is between 22 and 28°C (8 - 21 days germination period), therefore it is recommended to use a greenhouse and a heating mat. The plants need a fresh, well-fertilised, well-drained soil and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be placed in a fully sunny, sheltered spot with at least 6 hours of sunlight, preferably more. Put the plants outside about 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. To overwinter, cut back by 20 cm after harvesting and place in a bright spot at a minimum of 15°C.
Tips for successful chilli cultivation can be found in our chilli cultivation guide and in the chilli diary.
