Carrot Tendersweet Seeds
Info: This aptly named carrot is the sweetest carrot anywhere! It produces long, tender roots with a very rich orange color, are virtually coreless and have a tender sweet flavour. An excellent all-around carrot for cooking, canning, pickling, baking, and juicing.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow from Febuary under cloches or fleece. Can be sown outdoors as late as August. Sow them as thinly as possible, this reduces the amount of thinning necessary. Mix the seeds with a handful of sharp sand and sow the seeds and sand together. Plants should be kept well watered and carrots prefer a sandy, well-drained soil. Too much nitrogen will cause the carrots to grow hairy little roots all up and down the carrot.
