Brussels sprout Groninger Seeds
Info: Brussels sprout `Groninger` is a high-yielding, medium-late variety. The plants grow up to 120 cm tall and root deeply through the soil. Between 30 and 50 large, densely filled florets develop on the stem and mature from the bottom up. Therefore, the harvest extends over a longer period of time. The florets have a fine, tart, slightly nutty aroma that develops fully after the first frosts.
Sowing & cultivation: Sowing can be done outdoors from April. Sowing depth should be about 0.5-1cm. A row spacing of 50 x 50cm is required. It needs a sunny to partially shaded sheltered location. A humus rich, nutrient-rich, clay soil is optimal. The soil should be deeply loosened and enriched with garden compost and horn meal. The plants should be kept permanently moist and accumulated in early summer for greater stability.
