Info: The red-flowered, high-yielding bean "Prizewinner" produces long, threadless pods with violet grain. The grains have a black mottling and are ideal for a hearty bean salad. From the pods, a delicious bean vegetables can be prepared. Even freezing or awakening is easily possible with the fleshy pods. The variety can also be used to decorate balconies and fences. With its beautiful, red flowers can be conjured a real eye-catcher. Prizewinner is a very robust pole bean, which makes it well suited for harsh weather conditions.
Sowing & cultivation: The sowing should be about 3 cm deep. Press seeds and cover with soil. For row sowing the distance shoould be 40 cm with a grain spacing of 6 - 8 cm. When sown as a pit sowing, the distances are 30cm at 5-7 seeds per planting site. Sow the beans in humus-rich, well-drained garden soil in a warm, sheltered, sunny to partially shaded place with even moisture. If necessary, separate. The stability of the plants is improved by sowing in clumps.
