Bergamot Wild Seeds
Info: The Wild Bergamot, also commonly called Bee Balm or Horse-Mint originates from Northern America and is an ornamental, medicinal and a spice plant. It has a lovely violet-pink blossom and distinctively aromatic foliage. The leaves can be used for meat dishes or as an ingredient for delicious, citrus-like teas.
Wild Bergamot is a familiar component of prairie and savanna communities on all but the wettest of soils. Historical medicinal applications among indigenous people are as tea infusion against headaches, indigestion and colds and flu.
Sowing & cultivation: sowing is best in pre-culture from March. Cover the fine seeds only little or not at all with soil. Germination occurs over a longer period of time. Since Wild Bergamot is mildew susceptible you should offer a suitable location, sufficient plant distance, a cut back after flowering and a regular and sufficient irrigation.
