Bergamot Lemon Seeds
Info: Lemon Bergamot, also called Big Bee Balm, is a beautiful plant which produces masses of tiered pink and purple blossoms. The leaves have a wonderful taste and lemony aroma and the dried flowers can be used in tea. The leaves can be used as a spice in salads or fish dishes or for making lemonades. For drying, harvest leaves before the flowers open.
Sowing & culivation: Sow indoors late February to mid-March, or direct sow from mid April when a light frost is still possible. Cover the fine seeds only little or not at all with soil. Germination occurs over a longer period of time. Since Bergamot is mildew susceptible you should offer a suitable location, sufficient plant distance, a cut back after flowering and a regular and sufficient irrigation.
