Wild Teasel Seeds
Info: The Wild Teasel grows 110 to 200 cm tall and resembles a thistle with its beautiful large, purple and striking inflorescences. It is suitable as a solitary plant on the edge of an open space or as the impressive centre of a perennial bed. The card is a great bee pasture and also attracts bumble bees, butterflies and many other insects. It comes from the Mediterranean and likes a full sunny location on slightly loamy soil. In traditional medicine, the root is used in many ways, including skin diseases, icterus, stomach and intestinal problems and even Lyme disease.
Sowing & care: Sow the seed on the surface of well-permeable, moist soil and cover lightly with soil. The wild teasel is biennial: it forms its leaf rosette in the first year, from which a stem with the flower sprouts in the following year. It likes sunny to semi-shady places on a loamy, calcareous soil that should be kept slightly moist.
