Pansy Swiss Giant Berna Velvet Blue Seeds
Info: Pansy Swiss Giant Berna Velvet Blue flowers in a velvety dark blue to deep purple. The flowers are large on vigorous bushy plants. It is flowering slightly later than winter types, but all season they will provide a dazzling display in flower beds, containers and baskets.
Pansies are popular bedding, flower box and grave plants and set beautiful accents along borders, walkways, beds and even on the balcony, with their numerous varieties in all colours. The small blooming wonders are usually grown biennially, i.e. they are sown directly into the bed in late summer and then flower next spring. However, they should be protected with fir branches during frosty periods.
The flowers of all pansies are edible.
Sowing & care: For a flowering period in spring/early summer, the seeds are sown under glass to a depth of approx. 0.25 cm from March onwards. Keep moderately moist during germination. For later flowering periods, sow after the last frost or in late summer. If sown in late summer, the pansies flower with a break in winter until late spring. If planted in spring, they flower from March into summer. Pansies like a sunny to semi-shade location and a soil that is always slightly moist and rich in nutrients. They also like water that is low in lime.
