Jalapeno Chichimeca Chili Seeds
Information: The Jalapeño Chichimeca is a chilli variety from Mexico that is extremely robust. It matures in red, has clear furrows and is heavily corked. The pods of the chilli reach a size of up to 10 cm. In contrast to other jalapeño varieties, they are less hot but have an intense flavour and a fruity, delicious paprika aroma. The fruit walls of the chillies are very strong and corked.
In general, jalapeño chillies are ideal for Tex-Mex dishes, frying, smoking and also for making salsa, sauces or for cooking.
Care: The germination temperature is between 22 and 28 °C (12 - 21 days germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, well-drained soil and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be placed in a full sun, sheltered spot with at least 6 hours of sunlight, preferably more. Place the plants outside at the earliest approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. If you cultivate the plant in a pot, you can overwinter it. To do this, you may need to cut it back a little and place it in a bright spot with a temperature of at least 15°C.
