Organic Sumatra Chili Seeds
Information: The Sumatra chilli originally comes from Asia and delights with its fruity, spicy flavour and intense aromas. The pods are hot and delicious and change colour beautifully from yellow to orange to red. The surface of the pods is smooth and shiny, but lies in strong waves, giving the chilli pepper a contracted appearance overall.
The fruity flavour of the chillies makes them ideal for sauces, exotic dishes or chutneys.
Care: The germination temperature is between 22 and 28 °C (12 - 21 days germination period), therefore the use of a greenhouse and a heating mat is recommended. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised, well-drained soil and do not tolerate waterlogging. They should be placed in a full sun, sheltered spot with at least 6 hours of sunlight, preferably more. Place the plants outside at the earliest approx. 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. If you cultivate the plant in a pot, you can overwinter it. To do this, you may need to cut it back a little and place it in a bright spot with a temperature of at least 15°C.
You can find plenty of useful tips for successfully growing chili plants in our Chili Growing Guide and in the Chili Journal.
