Organic Senega Chili Seeds
Information: The Senega chilli belongs to the hot habanero family and has an exciting, almost twisted and heavily wrinkled appearance that reminds some people of a pumpkin. Its orange-red colour looks so harmless, but the heat of the pod is intense and biting. The plant is very productive and the fruits are around 4 - cm in size, have a thin wall and are ideal for spicing up exotic dishes.
Even if the Senega takes a long time to reach a certain size, after a few weeks at high temperatures it starts to grow well and catches up with the other chilli varieties in no time. It grows up to 1.20 metres tall, so we recommend using a small trellis.and a heating mat. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised permeable soil and should not be left in standing water. They should be placed in a sunny, sheltered place with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day, if not more. The earliest time to place the plants outside is 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. If grown in plant pots, you can also take care of them through the winter. It might be necessary to cut them back slightly and place them in a light place where it is at least 15°C.
You can find plenty of useful tips for successfully growing chili plants in our Chili Growing Guide and in the Chili Journal.
