Jalapeno Joloba Chili seeds
Information: Jalapeños are true classics of Mexican cuisine and, together with tomatoes, form the basis for the famous Mexican salsa Pico de Gallo. The Joloba variety grows very slowly in the early stages and is often supported by a trellis. The fruity-sweet but also intensely hot chilli is often used for stuffing or pickling. . If grown early and in suitable weather conditions, it can bear ripe fruit from the end of June.
The fruits are around 6-8 cm long and conical in shape. Typical of jalapeños, they also have a thick pericarp. The pungency level is between 5 - 6 out of 10.
Care: Germination temperature is between 21°C and 24°C (germination period: 8-20 days); it is therefore recommended to use a greenhouse and a heating mat. The plants need fresh, well-fertilised permeable soil and should not be left in standing water. They should be placed in a sunny, sheltered place with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day, if not more. The earliest time to place the plants outside is 2 to 3 weeks after the last frost. If grown in plant pots, you can also take care of them through the winter. It might be necessary to cut them back slightly and place them in a light place where it is at least 15°C.
